Eitan Sessler

Chief Executive Officer

Eitan is a multi-disciplinary entrepreneur with experience and knowledge in business development for pre-seed startups and small size companies. Prior to founding Latimeria, he was Operations Manager at Pisga Engineering LTD, an Aerospace and Defense Engineering consultant company. Eitan is a graduate of the Kellogg-Recanati Executive MBA program (joint degree of Northwestern, USA and Tel-Aviv Universities) and holds a B.A. degree (with honors) majoring in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya, Israel. He is an active counselor for the board of directors of the ‘Ecological Greenhouse’ in Kibbutz Ein Shemer, a non-profit promoting education, ecology and social involvement, and formerly held positions at KAYAMUT Solutions, 2Trek, and Effective Space Solutions.

Itai Ivry

Head of Operations and Technology

With over 25 years of experience in aquaculture technology, including marine fish, marine invertebrates and microalgae, Itai leads Latimeria’s technological development and operations teams. Previously he worked as a special algae technology consultant for Frutarom Ltd. (LSE: FRUT, TASE: FRUT), managed a microalgae farm (Seambiotic Ltd.), and designed and managed an abalone farm and breeding center (SeaOr Marine Ltd.). He started his career in aquaculture at the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research, National Center for Mariculture (IOLR-NCM) specializing in marine fish reproduction.

Gilad Heinisch, Ph.D.

Head Biologist

Dr. Heinisch specializes in fish sexual maturation and reproduction and leads Latimeria’s biological operations. Gilad started his aquaculture career in IOLR-NCM (Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research, National Center for Mariculture) in the Fish Reproduction and Fish Pathobiology Departments. Among his areas of expertise are artificial propagation of marine fish, including Grey Mullet and Bluefin Tuna, endocrine analyses and pathobiology. Gilad holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. (with honors) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and a Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire, USA.
