Latimeria was founded in 2011 to make a significant and lasting impact in the business of aquaculture. We are committed to increasing and promoting sustainable fish breeding centers by developing innovative technologies, placing us at the forefront of fingerling production operations.

Using new concepts and methodologies that answer the fish industry’s evolving challenges, we have developed the “Water Ring.” This Patent Pending system is the foundation of our breeding centers, and is designed to maximize the biological needs of broodstocks and minimize operational costs.

Latimeria’s initial generic fish breeding facility is located in Israel. Our first species is the euryhaline and herbivorous grey mullet (mugil cephalus), culturally prized across the Mediterranean Basin and Asia for its flesh and salted roe (bottarga/karasumi) and increasingly valued in European markets.
